About the festival
Regard Bleu is an ethnographic film festival that is held biennially (even) at the Ethnographic Museum of the University of Zurich. Since its first edition in 2001, Regard Bleu is exclusively dedicated to students’ productions. Over the years, the festival has grown into an interdisciplinary platform for ethnographic and socially relevant film from a broad range of fields and institutions. As such the festival is not only screening films but aims at furthering a critical engagement with and fruitful discussions about current trends in anthropological filmmaking and beyond. Not limited to any specific academic discourse or thematic restriction Regard Bleu is an open space for projects from a wide range of fields that embrace contemporary culture and society through audio-visual media productions.
Since 2016 Regard Bleu is conceptualized and organized by students of the ISEK (Department of Social Anthropology and Cultural Studies) over the course of a seminar.
