Events in May and June 2026
Dear friends, colleagues and interested parties,
"Rumble in the Archive" invites you to join conversations in the next weeks; there will be a variety of exchange formats.
At the "Tastes and Tongues" symposium organised by studiyo filipino on 30 May, a panel discussion and roundtables will focus on languages and dishes that are perceived as typically "Filipino". The event will be mainly in English; registration is required.
To conclude the "Rumble Residents Select" film series, we will be screening the iconic 1981 documentary "Züri brännt" on 4 June (with English subtitles). Afterwards, Zurich-based filmmaker Samir and guest curator Rohit Jain will speak about the role of (forgotten) migrant resistance in the 1980s movement.
Looking at today's Zurich, the Zunft zur Diversität will ask the question "Wer bestimmt die Stadt?" ("Who shapes the city?") on 6 June (in German). Panel guests are Lenny Bugayong (studiyo filipino), Dembah Fofanah (Zunft zur Diversität), Swassthi Sivasanmukanatha Sarma (swassthi.ch) and Artan Islamaj (Institut Neue Schweiz, invited).
Children's author Lily C. Fen will be presenting her new bilingual picture book "Kisig Takes the MRT" on 7 June. The book is in Tagalog and English; the event will be in English.Registration is appreciated.
And as always: on the month's last Thursdayat 6 pm, there will be a dialogic guided tour. The next one with resident artist Eva De Souza und guest curator Rohit Jain on 28 May.

Later in June, resident artist Eva De Souza will present the film "Katô: Dreams of Dark Earth" (2026) and lead a workshop exploring objects from the museum's collection (12/13 June).
Further guided tours take place every month's last Thursday at 6 pm: 25 June, 30 July, 27 August
