"The Fall Rumble"

Save the Date 26 September 2026

Dear friends, colleagues, and interested parties

Over the past year, guest curator Rohit Jain and the four residents—studiyo filipino, Salim Umar, Eva De Souza, and the Alkebulan Association—have created a critical space for archiving, learning, and meeting at the Ethnographic Museum UZH. The space explores, develops, and brings into dialogue new perspectives, voices, and stories from postcolonial Zurich.

As a highlight, "The Fall Rumble" on 26 September 2026 (1:30 pm to about 10:00 pm) brings together these perspectives, voices, and stories, as well as sounds, spirits and vibes from the community. We’ll look back on the "Rumble in the Archive" process and imagine ways to keep the rumble going. A community festival to celebrate postcolonial Zurich—carnivalesque, communal, honest, and open.

Storytelling, panel discussion, spoken word, sound performance, reading, concert, DJ set, food & drinks

Featuring Fatima Moumouni, Tracy September, Hilarius Dauag, KUMARI b2b speedmaus (Sooriyan Collective), Hannan Salamat, Tasnim Baghdadi, Priya Mohanty, Rohit Jain, Alexis Malefakis as well as Rumble residents Salim Umar, studiyo filipino, and Eva De Souza.

The Rumble archive is now complete and will be open until 27 September 2026. Make the most of these last days to delve into questions surrounding "human zoos," colonial trade, decolonial resistance, politics of representation, reparations, and and a future museum after complete restitution …

So, don’t miss out on the rumble!
